Cheberiachko to step in
Unlike the last training camp that saw several players putting on the national team jersey for the first time, this time there is only one newcomer. This is FC Dnipro’s Yevhen Cheberiachko who has previously played for Under-21 team. FC Metalist defender Olexander Romanchuk received a first cap from the coaching staff led by Markevych, though he has made two appearances for Ukraine while repersenting FC Arsenal Kiev. In 2007 Romanchuk played Israel in a friendly (1:1) and France in a qualifier (2:2).

Injuries stand in the way
The coaching staff found it impossible to cap against the Netherlands all candidates that preliminary featured in the list. Due to injuries FC Metalist goalkeeper Olexander Horiainov, FC Metalurh Zaporizhya defender Volodymyr Poliovy, FC Dnipro halfback Ruslan Rotan and FC Dynamo halfback Oleg Husiev missed out on a place in Markevych’s squad. However, head coach and his assistants will be keeping an eye on their performances.

Press conference
The footballers will move to the national team’s training camp in Koncha-Zaspa on August 9. Next day at 17.00 head coach will chair a press conference. All mass media then will be able to pay a 20-minute visit to an open training session that starts at 18.00. Ukraine play Netherlands on August 11. The match kicks off at Donbass Arena at 21.00.
